William Dacre, 5th Baron Dacre

William Dacre, 5th Baron Dacre also William de Dacre (* around 1357 ; † July 20, 1399 ) was an English nobleman and politician.

Life

Dacre was the only son of Hugh Dacre, 4th Baron Dacre and his wife Elizabeth de Maxwell. After the death of his father in 1383 he was given the title of Baron Dacre . He probably married Joan Douglas with whom he had a son. Between 1383 and 1397 he was a member of the English Parliament . From June 13, 1385 he was also a member of Richard II's army . He was knighted for his services . With Dacre's death, the family's hereditary title of nobility passed to their only son, Thomas . Like his father, Dacre was buried in the Lanercost priory .
