William Daman (also: William Damon , Guillaume Daman * 1540 / 41 probably in Liege ; † 26. March 1591 in London ) was a frankoflämischer musicians, flutist, organist and composer.

Life

Nothing is known about youth and education. Possibly at the invitation of the First Earl of Dorset, Thomas Sackville, he moved to London in 1562. There he entered the service of Queen Elizabeth I and spent the rest of his life in England.

He mainly created vocal works, including songs and motets , but also some instrumental works, such as two fantasies for three or six soprano instruments.
