William Fox (actor)

William Hubert Fox (born January 26, 1911 in Manila , † September 30, 2008 in London ) was a British actor and writer.

Life

Fox was born in Manila to a successful businessman and traveled extensively as a child. In 1930 he finished drama school and got a role in the comedy The Bread-Winner by William Somerset Maugham . He then founded his own drama group, with which he staged the thriller Rope by Patrick Hamilton . In 1932 he married the seven years older actress Carol Rees, with whom he had a daughter; The marriage ended in divorce in 1937. From 1938 until her death in 2001, Fox was married to actress Patricia Hilliard, with whom he had two children.

Fox also appeared in numerous radio plays and wrote radio plays himself under a pseudonym. He also acted in a few films.
