William Grill

William Grill (* 1990 ) is a British illustrator and children's book author .

Life

Grill studied illustration at Falmouth University in Cornwall . According to his own statements, he prefers to draw with colored pencils and finds inspiration in nature. He works in a studio in the Dalston borough of Hackney , London , which he shares with his brother. His illustrations have appeared in various newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times . 2014 he published his first picture book Shackleton's journey ( Shackleton's Journey ). It shows the endurance expedition led by Ernest Shackleton (1914 to 1917). For this Grill was awarded the Kate Greenaway Medal .
