William Haugse

William Haugse is an American film editor who also occasionally works as a screenwriter and film director .

Life

Haugse initially worked as an editor from the mid-1970s. In 1977 he staged his first own project as a director with Breakfast in Bed . Starting with Hoop Dreams in 1994, he turned completely to documentary film and is mainly active in the field of film editing .

For his work as editor on Hoop Dreams , Haugse was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Editing in 1995 together with Steve James and Frederick Marx . They also won the Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors .
