William Hilary Young

William Hilary Young (born January 14, 1913 , † 2003 ) was a British diplomat . From 1966 to 1970 he was the British ambassador to Colombia .

Life

William Hilary Young married Barbara Gordon Richmond in 1946 and they have a son (* 1947) and a daughter (* 1950). Young was accredited in Iran from 1935 to 1941 . From 1941 to 1945 Young was employed in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Young was in Berlin from 1945 to 1948. From 1948 to 1950, William Hilary Young was the first embassy secretary under Geoffrey Arnold Wallinger in Budapest . In 1951, William Hilary Young attended Imperial Defense College. From 1952 to 1954, William Hilary Young was Counselor in New Delhi . From 1954 to 1957, William Hilary Young headed the Southern Europe department at the FCO. Cyprus and Greece fell within his remit. From 1957 to 1960 Young was in Moscow in rank ministers . From 1960 to 1962, Young was a Senior Civilian Instructor at Imperial Defense College . From 1962 to 1965, William Hilary Young was a minister in Cape Town. 1965 was a Young Fellow at the Harvard Center for International Affairs. In 1970, William Hilary Young was retired.
