William M. Mechanic

William M. Mechanic (* 1950 in the USA), also known as Bill M. Mechanic , is an American film producer and film professor.

As studio director of Fox Filmed Entertainment at 20th Century Fox from 1993 to 2000, Mechanic was responsible for the production of films such as William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet , 1996, The Thin Line , 1999, and James Cameron's Titanic , 1997. Since 2000 he has had his own film production company, Pandemonium Pictures , which works closely with Walt Disney . This makes him one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood.

Bill Mechanic is Professor of Film at the University of Southern California , Los Angeles (USC School of Cinematic Arts).

In 2001 Mechanic was chairman of the Berlinale jury.
