William Brittain Martin (born May 13, 1866 in Elizabeth , † January 22, 1931 ibid) was an American sports shooter .
successes
William Martin took part in the 1908 Olympic Games in London in part, which took in just one discipline. With the army rifle, he was part of the US team, which was Olympic champion over six different distances from Great Britain and Canada . In addition to Martin, William Leushner , Charles Benedict , Charles Winder , Ivan Eastman and Kellogg Casey also won the gold medal. With 430 points, he was the team's best shooter together with Leushner.
Martin was a major in the 2nd New Jersey Infantry .
