William McGovern

William Montgomery McGovern (born July 9, 1934 - † March 27, 2018 ) was an American legal scholar.

After graduating summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1955 and Harvard Law School in 1958, he worked at Sidley and Austin in Chicago. After five years there, he went to teach at Northwestern University Law School.

McGovern taught at the UCLA School of Law since 1971 and stayed there until 1994.

Numerous specialist books come from his pen.
