William Skudlarek

William Skudlarek OSB (* 1939 ) is an American religious and Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

William Skudlarek studied theology at St. John's University in New York (1960) and received his doctorate from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (1968). He completed postgraduate studies at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton (1976).

He is a member of the convent of Saint John's Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota. He was professor of theology at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota (1964–1985, 1990–2007) and its dean from 1980 to 1984. From 2002 to 2007 he was director of priestly formation.

Skudlarek was President and Director of the North American commission for Monastic Interreligious Dialogue and has been Secretary General of Dialogue Interreligieux Monastique / Monastic Interreligious Dialogue (DIMMID) based in Sant'Anselmo in Rome since 0000 . Pope Francis appointed her a member of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue .
