One of his bridges is the Tinsley Bridge, built around 1840, which is better known under the name Kilmaclugh Bridge and leads over the Clashawley . She was hit several times by severe flood damage.

In 1851 he emigrated to Cincinnati. His structures in the USA include buildings for Rockwell, Kenyon and Wabash Colleges, for the University of Wisconsin , Wesleyan University and Northwestern Christian University in Indianapolis . He also built Christ Church in Indianapolis, St. John's Episcopal Church in Lafayette, Indiana, and the Calvary Episcopal Church in Clifton near Cincinnati. He built here Henry Probascos house Oakwood . He was later commissioned to design the square around the Tyler Davidson fountain donated by Probasco .
