William Wallace Irwin
William Wallace Irwin (* 1803 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , † September 15, 1856 there ) was an American politician .
Irwin studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1828. He then practiced in Pittsburgh. From 1840 to 1841 he was mayor of the city. Irwin was elected to the United States Whig Party in the 27th Congress and represented the state of Pennsylvania from March 4, 1841 to March 3, 1843 in the US House of Representatives . After his career in the US House of Representatives, he was from March 3, 1843 to June 12, 1847 Chargé d'Affaires in Denmark . He died in Pittsburgh in 1856 and was buried in Allegheny Cemetery .
