William Weyland
William Weyland (* before 1230; † 1274 ) was an English civil servant and judge.
William Weyland was the second eldest son of landowner Herbert Weyland from Essex and his wife Beatrice. His mother was a daughter of Stephen of Witnesham . After the death of her father, she and her five sisters inherited his small estate Witnesham near Ipswich in Suffolk . Weyland's older brother John and younger brother Thomas became judges. William Weyland served in Ireland from 1248 as Seneschal of the Liberty of Ross , a reign of the Earl of Norfolk . From 1257 to 1258 he was the King's traveling judge in Ireland. Between 1261 and 1264 he administered the fallen crown fiefs in England south of Trent . In 1269 he was Seneschal of the Liberty of Kildare . From 1271 until his death he was a traveling judge on the Court of Common Bench in England. After his death, his younger brother Thomas inherited his estates in England and Ireland.
