Willy Bertschinger (* 1955 in Dübendorf ; † July 27, 2010 in Uster ) was a Swiss national ice hockey player who was under contract with Zürcher SC and EHC Dübendorf in National League B for many years . In 1981 he won the Swiss championship with the EHC Biel .

Career

Willy Bertschinger began his career with Zürcher SC in 1974 and played for them in the second-rate National League B until 1980 . During this time he also completed the only five international matches of his career. In 1980 he moved to the first division at EHC Biel , with which he won the Swiss championship at the end of the 1980/81 season .

In 1982 he returned to the ZSC before he was active for the EHC Dübendorf in the NLB between 1983 and 1987 . A season at EHC Uzwil followed before returning to ZSC for the last time in 1988. With this he made it to the National League A in 1989 , but ended his career after this success. During his last season, he temporarily looked after the ZSC team as a player-coach.

In addition to ice hockey, he worked as an insurance agent. Bertschinger died in an accident in July 2010 at the age of 55.
