Willy Hummel

Wilhelm "Willy" Hummel (born December 13, 1872 in Gottlieben , † March 22, 1939 in Davos ) was a Swiss painter , draftsman and graphic artist .

Life

Willy Hummel founded his own art school in Zurich in 1913 . From 1921 to 1927 he worked as a figure drawing teacher at the Zurich School of Applied Arts. He mainly dealt with landscapes, portraits and still lifes.

Willy Hummel was not related to the chemist Wilhelm Hummel , a grandson of the composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel and his wife Elisabeth Röckel .
