Willy Oliveira

Willy Corrêa de Oliveira (born February 11, 1938 in Recife ) is a Brazilian composer.

Oliveira studied in São Paulo with George Olivier Toni and took part in the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music with Henri Pousseur , Luciano Berio , Karlheinz Stockhausen and Pierre Boulez . He then worked in the electronic studios of the Karlsruhe University of Music , West German, Italian and French radio.

He later taught music theory and composition at the Conservatory of Santos and composition at the University of São Paulo. He composed orchestral and chamber music works, chants based on texts by Portuguese trobadors, choral works, film and theater music.
