The windmill Plößnitz is a Grade II listed windmill in the city of Landsberg in Saxony-Anhalt belonging district Plößnitz .

location

It is located northwest of the residential area "Am Mühleneck", at the intersection of the streets "Am Mühlenfeld" and "Zur Windmühle", directly opposite the former sand pit. Originally it stood free in the landscape. From the southeast, however, the residential areas "Am Mühleneck", "Im Mühlengrund" and "Am Mühlenfeld" have been built up to the mill location.

Architecture and history

The post mill dates from the year 1735. It has been preserved and functional together with its technical equipment. The mill has a grinding gear , roller frame , cleaning system and louvre blades. There are also auxiliary facilities such as elevators , transmissions and an elevator.

Flour was ground in the mill until 1950, until 1975 it was still used for grinding fodder meal . It was then shut down. In 1990 the windmill was owned by a local farmer. It was without wings and could be powered by an electric motor. A new owner then carried out extensive renovations and repairs. The windmill was also equipped with blades again.

In the local register of monuments , the building is recorded as a mill under registration number 094 55049.
