The Jüchen wind farm is located in the urban area of Jüchen in the Rhine district of Neuss . The wind farm was built on 45 hectares of recultivated area of the Garzweiler opencast mine and has been in operation since 2012.
Establishment
Construction of the four wind turbines by RWE Innogy and REpower (now Senvion ) began in April 2012 after three years of preparatory planning. Installation began in October of the same year and was commissioned in December. The total cost of the park was around 20 million euros.
business
The REpower 3.4M104 turbines have a hub height of 120 m and, with a rotor diameter of 104 m, are 180 m high up to the rotor tip. With a nominal output of 3.4 MW per system, the park has an installed capacity of 13.6 MW, the annual amount of electrical energy generated is 31 GWh .
Two of the plants are operated by RWE Innogy, two by Windpark Jüchen GmbH & Co. KG, in which BürgerEnergie eG, Stadtwerke Jüchen and employees of RWE Innogy GmbH participate.
