The Windward Performance GosHawk is a two-seat motor glider from the US manufacturer Windward Performance that is offered as a kit .
History and construction
The GosHawk was designed for the Green Flight Challenge 2011 for aircraft with electric, biofuel and hybrid propulsion, but was not completed in time. The cantilevered low-wing with a rigid spur wheel chassis has greatly extended wing 2.5 ° dihedral that modifies from the DuckHawk were taken, and a cross-tail with steamed side and elevator . The entrance door is on the left. The wing and tail unit can be removed for transport in the trailer, the ends of the wing can be dismantled for easy hangaring,
The plane is made from prepreg - CFK built. Toray T700 carbon fibers are used and Diab Divinycell HP is used as a support.
In addition to an electric motor, two piston motors are provided for the motorization : a two-cylinder HKS 700E with 56 HP or a Rotax with 85 HP.
