Winfried Seidinger

Winfried Seidinger (born May 1, 1931 in Langenwang ; † December 28, 2009 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and principal school director. Seidinger was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1986 to 1999 .

education and profession

Seidinger attended elementary school in Langenwang from 1937 and secondary school in Langenwang and Mürzzuschlag from 1941 to 1945 . He subsequently graduated from the Federal Teachers' Training Institute in Graz and passed the teaching examination for elementary schools in 1953 and the teaching examination for secondary schools in 1958. Seidinger worked as a primary school teacher from 1950 and 1953 and was then a secondary school teacher until 1967. From 1967 to 1976 Seidinger headed the polytechnic course in Mürzzuschlag and was director of the DDr from 1977 to 1991. Schachner secondary school in Mürzzuschlag. In 1972 Seidinger was appointed high school supervisor.

politics

Seidinger was heavily involved in local politics and was a local councilor in Mürzzuschlag from 1970 to 1975. Between 1975 and 1982 he held the office of the City Council, after which he was Vice Mayor until 1983 and Mayor of Mürzzuschlag from 1983 to 1987 . In his role as teacher and school director, Seidinger was also active in various professional associations. Between 1967 and 1983 he held the office of district chairman of the Socialist Teachers' Association of Austria from Mürzzuschlag and was district education officer of the SPÖ. In addition, he was the deputy state education chairman of the SPÖ Styria and a member of the federal education committee.

Seidinger was anchored in the party structure from 1992 as a member of the state party presidium of the SPÖ Styria and also from 1992 president of the Austrian Workers' Association (ÖASB). From 1993 to 2008 he also acted as regional chairman of the Pensioners 'Association of Styria and from 1993 was Vice-President of the Pensioners' Association of Austria.

Seidinger was a member of the National Council from December 17, 1986 to October 28, 1999.
