Angle lever control
The angle lever control or Gölsdorf'sche angle lever control is a control for steam locomotives developed by the Austrian engineer and locomotive designer Karl Gölsdorf . It is a modification of the widely used Heusinger control .
Difference to the Heusinger control
The swing arm characteristic of the Heusinger control is replaced by an angle lever. The control was only used on a few branch line and some narrow-gauge locomotives, such as the 178 and 278 series or the narrow-gauge Yv series of the Ybbstalbahn . Neither in Austria nor in Europe did this control prevail. In the USA, however, it was further developed into the Baker control and was widely used there.
