The Winklerner Hut , located at 1906 m above sea level on the border between Carinthia and Tyrol , is a popular hiking destination and at the same time a starting point for hikes in the Schober group . The hut is owned by the PES ( Winklern section ) and offers space for around 30 people to spend the night in the mattress dormitory .
The hut is open in summer from the beginning of June to the end of October. In winter, the hut is open on weekends and public holidays, depending on the snow conditions.
Approach
- From Iselsberg on to Gasthof Schöne Aussicht and via a supply path directly to the hut.
- From the Winklerner district of Penzelberg (national park parking lot, walking time approx. 15 minutes)
