Winnfeld
Winnfeld , formerly Wintfeld , is the name of a piece of land near the Falkenburg of the noble lords of the Lippe near Berlebeck near Detmold . It has been believed by authors to be the scene of the Varus Battle since the 16th century .
In the 16th century agriculture was practiced on the plains of the Winnfeld, in the 18th century the dairymen's horses grazed here . Until the early 20th century, the Winnfeld was a hunting ground for the Lippe princes, whose paths were lined with avenues of pine trees.
