The Winslow rock is a cliff in the archipelago of Biscoe Islands off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . The rock lies off the east side of Lavoisier Island and is the site of a penguin colony .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the US physiologist Charles-Edward Amory Winslow (1877-1957), who had dealt with the reactions of the human body in cold areas, among other things.
