At the 2002 Winter Paralympics in Salt Lake City , the Danish team consisted of a single participating athlete: 37-year-old skier Anne-Mette Bredahl . The participant sent by the Danish Disabled Sports Association, the Dansk Handicap Idræts-Forbund , did not succeed - as had been hoped in advance - in winning a medal. The most successful placement was a 4th place over five kilometers of cross-country skiing in the classic style . in which she narrowly missed a bronze medal with a gap of 33 seconds behind the Finn Hanski Merja . On her favorite course, 7.5 km biathlon , she had to be content with fifth place due to technical problems. At the third start over ten kilometers of cross-country skiing (free style) she reached sixth place and in the 15 km cross-country skiing discipline Bredahl was disqualified because "her glasses did not fit properly." ("... at brillerne ikke sad rigtigt ")

In sledge hockey and alpine skiing no Danish participants competed.
