Wintersleep is a Canadian indie rock band from Halifax .

history

The band was formed in 2002. The musicians released their first own album in 2003 on the Canadian independent label Dependent Music . In 2006 the band signed a contract with EMI and had the first two albums re-released with bonus tracks. In addition to the activity in the band, the musicians play in various other bands. The band has appeared as the opening act for Pearl Jam , Editors , The Tragically Hip and Paul McCartney , among others . In October 2007 Wintersleep released the third album "Welcome to the Night Sky". This was nominated for the Juno Award 2008 in the category "Alternative Album of the Year" . In the same year the band won the Juno in the “New Group of the Year” category.

2013 her song was Weighty Ghost from her album "Welcome to the Night Sky" from the year 2007 in summary form to the title theme of Canadian drama series Cracked radio station CBC , which was developed by Tracey Forbes and the Task Force Officer Calum de Hartog. The series ran in two seasons.
