Wir3 was a German pop music group founded in 2007 . The band is marketed by the TV station Super RTL as part of the Toggo children's program , which is aimed primarily at 6 to 13 year olds.
History of the band
WIR3 was a German version of its 1999 successful Flemish group K3 : The singers are similar to the type forth those of the original and previously published WIR3 -Lieder are cover versions of K3 -Hits in which choreography and musical arrangement are identical to the Flemish versions - only the texts have been translated and partially adapted. On March 14th, 2008 the debut album "Wir3" was released (as CD and DVD).
The album "Regenbogenbunt", released in 2009, is the last album by Wir 3 so far. The website has not been updated since summer 2010 and the last login on the Myspace profile was on December 27, 2010.
Following the example of K3, there was also a documentary series about the band called “Die Welt von Wir 3”, which was broadcast on “Junior”. The original artwork by K3 was called “ De Wereld van K3 ” (The World of K3) and is a talk show for children that has existed to this day, or rather a children's magazine today. In the German version, the furnishing of the "Wir-3-Haus" is particularly noticeable, which is very reminiscent of the furnishing of the K3-Haus from various television films that Studio 100 produced and in which K3 played the leading role. In May 2012 the Wir3 website was permanently deleted.
Singer Linda Hesse started a solo career in 2011. Her first single "Ich bin ja kein Mann" was released on August 31, 2012 as a download, her debut album "Punktgenaue Landung" on February 15, 2013.
