"We will bury you!" ( Russian "Мы вас похороним!" , Transliteration My vas pokhoronim! ) Is a famous phrase of the Soviet Prime Minister Nikita Khrushchev . He used the phrase in an address given to Western ambassadors at the Polish Embassy in Moscow on November 18, 1956.

The real context was: “History is on our side. Like it or not, we will bury you. ”( Russian: “ Нравится вам или нет, но история на нашей стороне. Мы вас похороним ” ). Khrushchev later said, "I assure you, if we throw the last shovel of dirt on the grave of capitalism, we will do it together with China."

Other uses

Khrushchev's saying was used as the title of Jan Šejna's book on Soviet Cold War strategies . The phrase also appears in Sting's song Russians and in Don't Drink the Water by the Dave Matthews Band .
