Business secondary school with a focus on computer science

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The business school with a focus on computer science (WMI) is a training course in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland . Together with the other business schools, the grammar school and the general secondary school, it forms the canton school, which is anchored in the Middle Schools Act of June 12, 1980.

The WMI is currently offered at the Sargans Cantonal School and the Am Brühl Cantonal School in St. Gallen. It follows on from the 3rd secondary class and in four years leads to the federally recognized commercial vocational diploma. This qualification entitles you to transfer to a university of applied sciences without an examination. The aim of the WMI is to train pupils in information technology so well that they can be used productively in the IT sector immediately after their training or can further train and specialize in this area.

Language stay

English is very important in the computer science world. A four-week stay in the English-speaking area at the end of the second year should create the prerequisites for achieving the Cambridge First Certificate in English . The language stay sometimes takes place during the summer holidays.

internship

The three-year full-time school is followed by a one-year internship. The purpose of this year is to acquire practical commercial knowledge on the one hand and to practice and expand IT knowledge in everyday working life on the other. The school helps to find a job. Ultimately, however, the students themselves are responsible for finding an internship.
