Wissam al-Hassan
Wissam Adnan al-Hassan ( Arabic وسام عدنان الحسن, DMG Wissām ʿAdnān al-Ḥasan ; * April 11, 1965 in Btouratige , North Lebanon ; † October 19, 2012 in Beirut ) was a Lebanese brigadier general and chief of intelligence .
Life
Al-Hassan grew up in a Sunni family in northern Lebanon. His wife and two children lived in France.
On October 19, 2012, he was murdered by a car bomb in Beirut.
Military career
From 2001, Al-Hassan was the chief security officer of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri , who was murdered in an explosives attack in 2005 .
In 2006 he was promoted to head of the Lebanese secret service by his son Saad Hariri .
