Witold Zglenicki
Witold Leon Julian Zglenicki , ( Russian Витольд Згленицкий ; born January 6, 1850 in Wargawa Stara , † July 6, 1904 in Baku ) was a Polish geologist , oil exploiter and philanthropist .
Witold Zglenicki discovered the rich oil reserves in the Caucasus . He is also the pioneer in the field of oil extraction from the seabed.
Zglenicki established a foundation for the development of Polish culture and science. In recognition of this foundation, he is called the “Polish Nobel” in Poland.
