Wittelsbach Monument (2013)

The Wittelsbach Monument is a monument to Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria in the city of Füssen . It's located northeast of downtown and is in the middle of a roundabout . The statue was created by Alois Mayer and inaugurated in 1902.

In honor of the Wittelsbach royal family , especially the Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria, the memorial was created by the sculptor Alois Mayer and inaugurated on October 19, 1902. The statue of the Prince Regent was created in the course of many statues being erected by the Prince Regent in numerous Bavarian cities. It shows a statue of Luitpold in civilian clothes.

The inscription on the back of the monument reads:

FROM GRATITUDE
BUILT BY THE RESIDENTS
OF FUESSEN AND ENVIRONMENT.
MDCCCCII.

The statue is located in the immediate, northeastern vicinity of downtown Füssen. It connects the streets of Bahnhofstrasse , Augustenstrasse , Prinzregentenplatz and Luitpoldstrasse .
