Vyacheslav Petrovich Volgin
Vyacheslav Petrovich Volgin ( Russian Вячеслав Петрович Волгин ; born June 14, 1879 in Borschtschowka, † July 3, 1962 in Moscow ) was a Russian historian and rector of Moscow's Lomonosov University .
biography
Wolgin was the son of an officer. He studied physics and mathematics from 1897 to 1908 and then history and philology at Moscow University . From 1914 he taught at Shanyavsky University. In 1918 he helped found the Sverdlov Communist University . In 1920 he became a member of the Communist Party of Russia (Bolsheviks) (KPR (B)). From 1921 to 1925 he was rector of Moscow's Lomonossov University. From 1919 to 1930 he was a historian professor at Moscow University, from 1925 to 1930 dean and from 1919 to 1929 a member of the Scientific Council of the Soviet Union .
He was buried in the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
