Vladimir Andreyevich Faworsky
Vladimir Favorsky ( Russian Владимир Андреевич Фаворский , scientific. Transliteration Vladimir Andreevič Favorskij ; March 2 * . Jul / 14. March 1886 greg. In Moscow ; † 29. December 1964 ) was a Russian artist and rector of 1923-26 WChUTEMAS .
Faworski was best known for the artistic renewal of wood engraving in the 20th century . He worked as a lecturer for graphics at WChUTEMAS, an avant-garde design school in Moscow.
In 1962 Faworski became a member of the Academy of Fine Arts of the USSR and received the Lenin Prize .
His uncle was the chemist Alexei Faworski .
