Vladimir Alexandrowitsch Grammatikow ( Russian Влади́мир Алекса́ндрович Грамма́тиков ; born June 1, 1942 in Sverdlovsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian director.

Life

Grammatikov began studying civil engineering in Moscow until he decided to go to film, after which he studied acting. From 1974 he worked at the Gorky Film Studio, which he headed from 1998 to 2002. He is one of the founders and artistic directors of the Russian-Swedish-Danish-British film studio Starlight . From 1992 to 1996 he was president of the international “Starlight” children's film festival in Artek (1992–1996). He is one of the founders of the Festival of Visual Arts at the Russian Children's Center “Young Eagles” (1997–2006).

Grammatikow was the main producer and artistic director of the Russian adaptation of Sesame Street in the 1990s . Occasionally he also appears as an actor.

Grammatikow is married to Natalia Schukowa, daughter of Nikolai Schukow . The marriage resulted in two children, the actor and director Yegor Grammatikow and Nikolai, a lawyer.
