Vladimir Yevgenyevich Ivanovsky

Vladimir Yevgenyevich Ivanovsky ( Russian Владимир Евгеньевич Ивановский ; born May 9, 1948 in Moscow ; † June 3, 2016 ) was a Russian diplomat , most recently ambassador to Turkey.

Life

Ivanovsky was Ambassador of the Russian government of Vladimir Putin to the government of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from 2007 to 2013 . Ivanovsky studied at the Moscow Institute of International Relations until 1977 and entered the foreign service in 1977. He was accredited at the Belgrade Embassy from 1979 to 1984 and from 1986 to 1991. From 1997 to 1998 he was Consul General in Istanbul . Ivanovsky was married and had two sons.
