Wohmbach and tributaries

Wohmbach and tributaries is a Natura 2000 protected area in the municipality of Eitorf in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

The Wohmbach has its sources at the high damage . From there, the stream and its tributaries flow naturally westwards through the Leuscheid, which is only extensively farmed here . Shortly before its confluence with the Eipbach , it leads through the hamlet of Obereiper Mühle .

surface

The reserve has an area of ​​59 hectares . It is covered with wood-rush -Buchenwald, alder-ash and softwood alluvial forests, English Oak Forest-hornbeam forests and orchards. In the lower part of the stream there is a wet meadow with numerous shallow waters and swamp areas. In the south of the protected area there is also the Wolfgangsee , a dammed pond with fish stock.

The area is registered with the European Union in accordance with the provisions of Directive 92/43 / EEC ( Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive , FFH Directive for short) as number DE-5210-301.
