The house has been a listed building in Bremen since 1984 .

history

The two-storey city palace with a mezzanine floor from around 1848 from the classicism era is characterized by the large round arches. The owner was the shipowner Kotzbuck. In 1858 the house was sold to, as it is called, the "Herrschaft" (administration) and the magistrate of Geestemünde resided here; then the rendant (cash office) of the marine depot. From 1872 it was the official seat of the police inspector, the official of the Geestemünder law enforcement officers.

Around 1900 a prison was built in the courtyard, after 1945 there were apartments and in 1978 the building was demolished.

In the 1920s, the state criminal police of the Stade administrative district was housed in the main building for several years and then the Geestemünde police station, which moved in 1962 to the former, larger Reichspost building on Klußmannstrasse. It remained the seat of the Bremen state authority for several years, was sold and has served as a residential building ever since.
