A front door , apartment door or apartment entrance door is in contrast to the front door , a door that in several apartments inside a house the communal property from private ownership and private ownership limited and should protect. Legal

The obligation to bear the costs for maintenance can be imposed on the respective owner by means of a declaration of division . The owner or usufructuary or, with their consent, the tenant of the apartment may make changes to the inside; however, if the apartment is vacated with the aim of continued use, the original condition must be restored. Repair work (replacement of the seal and the locking cylinder or catch ) is at the expense of the landlord (who may, however , pass on damage caused by vandalism to his tenant), all other work on the outside of the door is usually borne by the landlord.
Regulations
Although there are no complete DIN regulations for apartment doors, there are still some regulations that must be observed in connection with an apartment entrance door.
Climate class
Doors that separate apartments from unheated corridors should be manufactured in accordance with climate class III . Here, aluminum inserts are used to prevent the door from warping in the event of temperature and humidity fluctuations.
Soundproofing
DIN 4109 specifies the minimum sound insulation levels to be observed. When installed, it must be 27 dB if the stairwell is separated from a hallway, but 32 dB if the door leads directly into a living room. The laboratory values for the doors must be 5 dB higher. To achieve these values, a bottom seal is essential.
For noise and climate protection it is necessary that the cavity between the door frame and the masonry must be completely filled with foam.
