Wolf Dietrich von Gemmingen (1680–1738)

Wolf Dietrich von Gemmingen (born October 29, 1680 ; † 1738 ) was the prince-bishop's secret councilor and caretaker to Abensperg as well as chief forester and chief magistrate to Amberg .

Life

He came from the 2nd branch (Mühlhausen) of the Steinegg line of the barons of Gemmingen and was a son of Wolf Ludwig von Gemmingen (1652-1691) from his second marriage to Felicitas Juliana von Kaltenthal (1655-1709). He was the prince-bishop's secret councilor and caretaker at Abensperg as well as chief forester and chief magistrate at Amberg.

He married Maria Elisabetha von Freyberg and Eisenberg († 1718) in 1708. Out of eight children from this connection, only two have reached adulthood. He went into a second marriage with Maria Magdalena von Wiederholt (1686–1746).
