Wolf Moser (* 1937 in Berlin-Schöneberg ) is a German musician and writer.

Life

Wolf Moser studied trumpet and guitar and has lived in Lyon as a freelance writer and journalist since 1972 .

At the age of 18, Moser began studying music at the State University of Music in Hamburg and chose the trumpet as his main subject . From 1960 he took guitar lessons, also in Hamburg, with Willy Meier-Pauselius, Adolf Haug and at the Hamburg Conservatory with Herbert Balzer. In Barcelona he was a student of the Spanish guitarist Emilio Pujol , a student of Francisco Tárrega .

In France, Wolf Moser first worked as a guitar teacher at various municipal and private music schools and taught German as a lecturer at two universities in Lyon. Influenced by his teachers Herbert Balzer and Emilio Pujol, Moser turned to freelance work as a translator, editor and writer.

He writes books and essays on guitar-specific topics and conducted interviews with many guitarist personalities, most of which were published in the specialist journal Guitar & Lute . He is also the editor of Spanish music for vihuela and guitar.

In addition, after forty years of preparatory work, he has published an extensive critical study on the work and personality of Diego de Silva Velázquez Diego Velázquez .
