Wolfgang Augustyn

Wolfgang Augustyn (born May 27, 1957 in Riedlingen ) is a German art historian and editor of the Reallexikons on German art history .

Life

Augustyn studied art history, medieval history, classical archeology, historical auxiliary sciences and Catholic theology in Munich and Freiburg . In 1981 he obtained a degree in Catholic theology. He received his doctorate in 1987 in Munich with the thesis "The Latin Hamilton Psalter in the Berlin Kupferstichkabinett (78 A 5)". From 1979 to 1982 and since 1985 Augustyn has worked at the Central Institute for Art History in Munich. Since 2002 he has been the deputy director of the Central Institute for Art History. He completed his habilitation in Passau in 2001 . In 2005 he received his habilitation at the University of Munich, where he received the title of adjunct professor in 2008 . Since April 2011 he has been the first chairman of the German Association for Art Research
