Wolfgang Bessler

Wolfgang Bessler (* 1953 ) is a German economist and university professor.

Life

Bessler studied business administration at the University of Hamburg until 1981 and then did an MBA at McGill University until 1983 . After completing his doctorate at Hamburg University, he held professorships at Syracuse University , the New York Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics . Since 1998 he has held the "Professorship for Business Finance and Banking" at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen .

Bessler's research and teaching focus on banking theory and capital market research. It covers asset pricing models, the recording of interest rate and currency risks as well as theory and practice of capital increases and the dividend policy of companies.

Bessler is a member of the editorial board of the renowned financial journal Financial Markets and Portfolio Management . He is a member of various scientific organizations and maintains cooperation contacts with practice.
