Wolfgang Dahms
Wolfgang Dahms (born January 18, 1950 in Halle an der Saale ) is a German writer . He lives in Nuremberg.
Life
Dahms was born in Halle an der Saale as the son of a doctor and a teacher. After school he began an apprenticeship in concrete construction. He was sentenced to fifteen months in prison for attempting to " illegally cross the border ". He earned his Abitur at night school. Dahms studied physics in Jena for six semesters . Since then he has worked in various professions. As a member of a circle, he took part in literary seminars. A GDR publisher rejected an early novel. It was only at the turn of 1989 that his application to leave the country was approved. He has lived in Nuremberg since 1990 . Dahms went on adventure trips to many countries. Since 2005 he has devoted himself exclusively to writing. Dahms is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS).
