Wolfgang Eder (monk)

Wolfgang Eder (born October 31, 1641 in Scherneck / Bavaria; † June 3, 1703 in Munich ) was an Augustinian hermit and spiritual writer.

Wolfgang Eder graduated from the Jesuit high school in Munich in 1661 (today: Wilhelmsgymnasium Munich ) and entered the order of the Augustinian hermits.

After studying at the University of Ingolstadt , Eder became a lecturer in the Augustinian monastery in Munich in 1671 . From 1682 to 1685, 1688 to 1691 and 1697 to 1700 he was Provincial of the Bavarian Province of the Augustinian Hermits.

Eder published a number of theological writings and translations, including Die Andere Welt (Munich 1694), rich in sermon examples .
