Wolfgang Eicher

Wolfgang Eicher (born September 12, 1952 in Brebach-Fechingen ) is a German lawyer who was a judge at the Federal Social Court from 1992 to 2017 .

Career

After completing his law studies at Saarbrücken University in 1976 and passing the Second State Examination in 1979, Eicher initially worked as a lawyer. In October 1979 he became a probationary judge . His appointment as judge at the Saarbrücken regional court in May 1982 was followed by his appointment as judge at the social court for Saarland in 1983 . From June 1984 to May 1986 he was seconded to the Federal Social Court as a research assistant . Immediately afterwards he returned to his office as judge at the social court for Saarland until April 1989. In that month he was appointed judge at the State Social Court for Saarland . Since July 1992 he has been a judge in the Seventh Senate of the Federal Social Court. On July 1, 2007, he was appointed presiding judge of the Seventh Senate responsible for unemployment insurance and the Eighth Senate, which is intended for disputes in matters of social assistance and the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act. He retired on March 31, 2017.
