Wolfgang Harsch

Wolfgang Harsch (born October 15, 1942 in Langenargen ) is a German psychiatrist and psychoanalyst .

Life

After studying medicine in Erlangen and Heidelberg, Wolfgang Harsch completed his training as a specialist in psychiatry and neurology in Berlin . In 1980 he received his doctorate from the Free University of Berlin with a thesis on the “Concept of psychological structure in psychoanalysis”. He trained as a psychoanalyst at the Berlin Psychoanalytic Institute of the German Psychoanalytic Association (DPV). From 1981 to 2007 he practiced as a psychoanalyst in Karlsruhe. The focus of his research is the subject of “Psychoanalysis and Money” and the development of a psychoanalytic theory of money . The aim of his latest publication is to lead the Midas complex - in relation to the unconscious meaning of gold, money and capital - out of its shadowy existence and to place it alongside the Oedipus complex . Wolfgang Harsch lives in Berlin.
