Wolfgang Klein (* 1964 in Bottrop ) is a German bank manager .

education

After graduation in 1984, training as a banker Wolfgang Klein studied from 1986 to 1991 at the University of Witten / Herdecke and then from 1989 to 1990 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles economics . He completed his doctorate in 1999.

From 1991 to 1996, Klein was a consultant at the management consultancy McKinsey . In 2001 he was elected to the Board of Management of Postbank , where he was responsible for mobile sales and the marketing division, among other things.

After Wulf von Schimmelmann's resignation on March 12, 2007, he was appointed as his successor in the post of CEO of Postbank with effect from July 1, 2007.

With effect from June 30, 2009, Postbank surprisingly parted ways with Klein in May 2009 “by mutual agreement” due to “differing views on the future business policy of the institute”. Stefan Jütte was appointed his successor .
