Wolfgang Lehmacher (born June 4, 1960 in Bonn ) is a specialist author, consultant and entrepreneur. He specializes in supply chain , transport and logistics .

Born in Bonn, he was involved in supply chain projects during his career. The stations of his career in business and international organizations include the positions as President and CEO of GeoPost Intercontinental and board member at GeoPost, the express parcel holding of Groupe La Poste and as Director Supply Chain and Transport Industries at the World Economic Forum .

Career

Lehmacher lived and worked in Paris , Shanghai and New York , among others , where he held managerial positions in commercial companies and international organizations.

Lehmacher began his professional career in 1980 at the German Red Cross in the headquarters for ambulance flights. In the course of his development he was involved in various initiatives in the courier, express and parcel industry (CEP). These included setting up GD Express Worldwide, a joint venture between five postal organizations - German, French, Dutch, Swedish and Canadian Post - as Local Truck Manager in Germany (1991–1992). He was also responsible for the German EMS International Joint Venture of Deutsche Bundespost and TNT Express Worldwide (1994–1996), for the expansion of TNT Express Worldwide's business in Eastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean (1997–1999), for European expansion of the French La Poste (1999–2001), as Senior Vice President GeoPost and Managing Director DPD for the integration of the European parcel network DPD into the La Poste Group (2001–2005) and then for the global expansion of the parcel business (2005–2010). As President and CEO of GeoPost Intercontinental, he led the global expansion of the express parcel business. In addition to operational units in Europe, his area of ​​responsibility included the regions Russia and the CIS countries, Africa, Turkey and the Middle East, Asia and Oceania and the American continent. Using a model of partnerships and targeted strategic investments, Lehmacher laid the foundations for La Poste's global “footprint” and established the Group's global express parcel network. At the end of 2014, Lehmacher took over responsibility for the Supply Chain and Transport Industries division at the World Economic Forum .
