Wolfgang M. Fischer

Wolfgang M. Fischer (born March 9, 1932 in Elbogen , Czechoslovakia , † March 26, 2007 in Essen ) was a German physician. Until his retirement in 1997, he was head of the department for obstetrics and perinatal medicine at the Center for Gynecology at Essen University Hospital and from 1990 to 1994 dean of the medical faculty.

biography

In the 1970s, Fischer developed the Fischer Score , an obstetric scoring system for assessing fetal heart rate, which is recorded with a CTG.

In 1974, Fischer came to the Medical Faculty in Essen from the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. In 1983 he took over the management of the department for obstetrics and perinatal medicine and at the same time was acting head of the department for gynecology, especially gynecological oncology, for three years.

From 1986 to 1988 he was the chairman of the structural committee and thus significantly involved in the restructuring of the faculty committees of the University of Essen. From 1988 to 1990 he served as Vice Dean and from 1990 to 1994 for two terms as Dean.
